“THE WELL”: THE COMPARTIMENTALIZED VERTICAL SOCIETY AND THE SCHOOL

In this text we present an interpretation of the Spanish film “El hoyo”, in Portuguese called “O poço”, through the phenomenological method. The central character, Goreng, is constructed by means of signs in a representation of human beings who do not accept the injustices of an uneven and combined class system. In this analogy, we are invited to reflect on the legitimacy of actions of force and coercion within the dramatic conflict in which they are inserted, of building something different to the established dynamics. The object that the character chooses to accompany him on his journey is a book, “Don Quixote”, written by Miguel de Cervantes, which narrates the adventures of the little nobleman from Castilla La Mancha who loses his mind. We draw a parallel with neoliberal Society and with the school from that time. In a vertical society, is freedom to survive? We do not seek to provide answers as to how the work should be interpreted, but what happened to us when we immersed in it.
