Abstract

This article is part of a study still under construction that aims to discuss mathematics in nursing practice, in the application of medicines (pharmacology) in hospital environments. This is field research, qualitative in nature, with a descriptive and interpretative approach, based on the perception of a health professional, in the field of Nursing, regarding the application of mathematical calculations, in the daily life of the adult ICU of a hospital private sector in Cuiabá/MT, with an emphasis on medication administration. The results highlight the daily challenges in the hospital environment, requiring healthcare professionals to constantly apply the mathematical knowledge acquired in different situations and realities.

Sthéfany Regina Moraes dos Santos Oliveira, Universidade de Cuiabá

Mestranda do Programa de Pós Graduação de Mestrado em Ensino e Docente  do curso de  Medicina da Universidade de Cuiabá (UNIC).

Laura Isabel Marques Vasconcelos de Almeida, Universidade de Cuiabá

Graduada em Pedagogia pela Universidade de Cuiabá (1994). Doutora em Educação pelo Programa de Pós Graduação da PUCPR, na linha de pesquisa: História e Políticas da Educação, concluído no ano de 2010 e Mestre em Educação pela UFMT, na linha de pesquisa em Educação em Ciências (2006). Vinculada ao Grupo de Pesquisa de História da Educação Matemática (GHEMAT), desde 2007. Especialista em Didática e Avaliação Educacional / UFMT (2000) Têm experiências na área de Gestão Escolar como Coordenadora Pedagógica, Professora da Educação Básica e do Ensino Superior. Atualmente orienta TCC no curso de Pedagogia e docente do Programa de Pós Graduação Stricto sensu do Mestrado em Ensino da Universidade de Cuiabá.
