AN ANALYSIS OF SELF-BIOGRAPHIC AND BIOGRAPHIC (SELF) RESEARCH: A PANORAMIC VIEW ON CAPES AND BDTD PLATFORMS

The present essay with a qualitative approach and bibliographic and documentary nature presents a state of knowledge made from the CAPES Theses and Dissertations Bank and the Digital Theses and Dissertations Library with the search terms “(auto) biographical research” and “Biographical research”. The objective was to present a panoramic view on the quantity of productions, the producing institutions and the related study areas, with an emphasis on investigations in the educational field, making it possible to globally analyze research on the themes. In the end, there is a greater number of results linked to graduate education programs, as well as the concentration of work in public institutions and in the Center-South region of the country.
