The Journal Revista Prática Docente (RPD) is a free publication of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the State of Mato Grosso, campus Confresa. Abstract
This article is part of a study still under construction that aims to discuss mathematics in nursing practice, in the application of medicines (pharmacology) in hospital environments. This is field research, qualitative in nature, with a descriptive and interpretative approach, based on the perception of a health professional, in the field of Nursing, regarding the application of mathematical calculations, in the daily life of the adult ICU of a hospital private sector in Cuiabá/MT, with an emphasis on medication administration. The results highlight the daily challenges in the hospital environment, requiring healthcare professionals to constantly apply the mathematical knowledge acquired in different situations and realities.
